Meta ads in wellness: creative patterns that repeat (and how to zig)

What we see in paid social creative when we cluster Australian wellness advertisers by theme.

Creative fatigue is not only an audience problem — it is a category problem. When ten clinics buy similar stock footage and similar hooks, CPMs rise and conversion rates converge.

Patterns on repeat

  • Before/after and testimonial montage — still works when specific and locally legible; fails when obviously templated.
  • Founder-to-camera — high variance; excellent when authentic, cringe when scripted.
  • “Science words + calm b-roll” — safe for trust, weak for differentiation unless tied to a sharp outcome promise.

How to zig without being random

Pick one contrarian axis you can defend: speed, specificity (avatar + outcome), transparency on pricing, or a bold guarantee tied to process — not hype.

Then validate whether anyone in your actual competitor set is already owning that axis in ads. If they are, you either commit harder with proof or choose a different wedge. Guessing from the feed is optional; data makes the call faster.
